FAQ 1060
What will happen if I fail my re-sit?

If you fail a deferral, you can re-take it as a referral, which is capped at the pass mark.If you fail a deferral and have mitigating circumstances which are approved, you can re-take it again as a deferral (uncapped).

If you fail a referral and have mitigating circumstances which are approved, you can defer your referral, which will still be capped at the pass mark.

If you fail a referral and have no mitigating circumstances, then you cannot take the exam again. Depending on your programme of study, the credits could be condoned. If they cannot be condoned, you may be offered a lesser degree.
