FAQ 1850
I want to take a break from my studies, what do I do?

For some of you there may be a point when either personal circumstances are affecting your ability to study and complete course work, or you realise that your course does not feel right for you.

The University encourages you to speak to your personal tutor or support staff in your College as soon as possible, to look at options available to you.

You are also strongly encouraged to speak to us in the Advice Unit as any break in your studies could have significant implications for your funding and housing situation both now and in the future, plus also you need to consider how you may need to support yourself during this time away from studying.

Remember if you are unsure what to do that we are independent from the University and anything you tell us is in complete confidence, and not discussed with anyone outside of our offices unless you give us permission to do so.

If you do decide to interrupt your studies you will need to complete the  appropriate
online form which is available from your College through SID Online and this must be signed off by the College to allow your release from your studies.
