FAQ 2179
I'm getting a ‘No Access’ message when swiping my Unicard. Why?

The most common cause for this is lack of credit on your print account. You will need at least 5p on your print account in order to login. Check your credit level by visiting the ‘Online Print Credits’ page (via icon on your cluster PC desktop) or swipe your card at one of the money loaders in Forum Library level 0 or Haighton PC cluster.

New Unicards can take up to 24 hours to be registered for print use - until a card is registered on the print system you will receive a ‘No Access’ message when you swipe.

Unicards need to be swiped smoothly and thoroughly through the card swipe, but occasionally cards prove faulty; try logging in with your University login ID and password via the ‘alternate login’ option at top right of the Xerox control panel. If you can login this way but not by swiping your Unicard, then your card may be faulty (but see above if you have a new card). Please contact sid@exeter.ac.uk or visit SID to have your card checked.
