I have a pop up saying the following: "BitLocker disk encryption policy has changed for drive C: Additional information is needed from you. This will take a few minutes" - Is this normal?
Exeter IT are rolling out compulsory encryption of staff laptops in order to increase the security of the data stored on them in the event that the laptop is lost or stolen.
You must create a PIN as per the pop-up request, you can ignore the request 9 time, however on the 10th pop-up you will not be able to cancel the request. Once you set the PIN, you will be asked to enter this whenever you switch on your laptop.
Do not store the PIN code with the laptop.
