FAQ 292
Who do I send my major amendments to for approval and what happens next?

You have up to 6 months in which to undertake major amendments and submit them to your Internal Examiner for approval.

You are, however, encouraged to complete your major amendments as soon as possible within this period.

The Internal Examiner will forward them to the External Examiner for approval.

The External and Internal Examiners must notify Postgraduate Administration that the amendments have been done to their satisfaction.

The Dean of Graduate Research will then recommend to the Vice Chancellor that the degree be awarded.

Please refer to the Code of Good Practice: Boards of Examiners for more information.

Postgraduate Administration will then write to you to confirm the award of your degree and ask you to submit the final copy of your thesis. Please see details on how to submit to Open Research Exeter (ORE) or how to submit hard bound copies

You will also be asked if you wish to attend Graduation or receive your degree in absentia. If you wish to attend Graduation, please ensure you register by the deadline advised in the email as late registration for the ceremonies is unlikely to be possible.
