Are my dependant family members allowed to work in the UK?
Your dependant partner and children over 16 should be allowed to work full-time in the UK without restriction during the period of their visa.
Dependants are not allowed to work as a professional sportsperson or sports coach, or as a doctor or dentist in training.
If they are not allowed to work, this will be stated on their visa, although if you are studying a degree-level course of 12 months or more, this may be an error. If your dependant's visa states that they are not allowed to work and you think they should be able to, please log an enquiry and one of our immigration advisers will be able to advise you further.
