FAQ 979
What is mitigation?

Mitigation is a process in place to ensure that illness or serious personal circumstances have a limited or no impact on assessed work.

This is done by adjusting the assessment, typically by either extending the deadline (extension), deferring (sitting the exam again in August); alternatively it may be that re-weighting the module (for example making it 100% exam) is offered. If you have had an illness or serious personal circumstance that has impacted your work and you would like to apply for mitigation, please use the online form.
