FAQ 980
Do I need mitigation?

You may need mitigation if you are facing unavoidable circumstances impacting upon your assessed work; exams, tests, or coursework. However, it is not always the answer and there are other support measures available.

Assignment extensions can be a solution to short-term setbacks, and are granted through a simpler process. However, extensions can only be discussed BEFORE the deadline of the assessment. If you have an injury or condition that affects an exam, AccessAbility may be able to make arrangements such as extra time or orthopaedic furniture to avoid the need to apply for mitigation.

For guidance and advice on how to apply for mitigation using the online form, please visit the University's Welfare webpage and click on the mitigation link. Be sure to read the guidance carefully before submitting a form.
