What is the difference between a referred and deferred assessment?

Referred assessment:


If you fail an assessment and mitigation been applied by your College:has not


You are eligible to take the exam/resubmit an assignment for a second time.


This is classified as a referred assessment and for exams and coursework. a fee is applicable



Deferred assessment:


If you did not take/submit the assessment and been granted mitigation:you have



This is classed as a deferred assessment for which there is .no fee


Referred assessment marks are capped at the minimum pass mark whilst deferred assessments award the full marks gained.
