FAQ 400
I'm travelling to a non-European country, can the University help me apply for my visa?

Unfortunately, our International Student Advisers are experts in UK immigration only, although we can also provide some basic information about Schengen visas for Europe.

If you are studying a degree programme in the UK, it is likely that you will be able to apply for a visa for another country from within the UK rather than returning home.

You will usually be able to apply for your visa through that country’s embassy in the UK (for example, you would apply for an American visit visa through the American Embassy in London).

The embassy website will often provide detailed information about the application process and contact details.

You should always contact the embassy if you are confused about which visa to apply for, or the immigration rules.

Remember that your visa is your responsibility, even if you are going on an organised field trip, and you need to research the visa process early.
